Most lost animals are soon found and sheltered by someone. It may be the Animal Care, your local Humane Society or an animal loving person. Traffic fatalities or wild animals unfortunately claim some animals.

It is important to realize that "advertising" a lost pet, while one of the many things that you should do, is not the most effective way to find your lost pet. The best you can hope for is that if someone does find a pet and remembers a "Lost Pet" sign on a telephone pole or at the Laundromat that they will return to where they saw the sign to look for a phone number.

The easiest and most effective way to search for a lost animal is to sit in the comfort of your own home, or at friends, and search the Animal Care and Control Web "Lost and Found" section where you can view color photographs and/or read descriptions of animals at the Center.

Here is What you Do

Simply use the "Search For Lost Pets" link below and cut the search down to the few animals that actually resemble yours. This means that you only need to spend a minute or two each day looking for your lost pet! If you think an animal may be yours, please come down and make a personal identification. Many animals look alike and the photo is representative not proof until you check for yourself.

Good Luck. Please call (707) 463-4427 if you have any questions.
