Synopsis: On 10-4-08 at approximately 0055 Deputies Vanbaren and Martin were attempting to make contact with the above listed suspect (possibly in violation of 290PC-Failure to properly register as a sexual offender) who was parked in his Toyota 4Runner along a turnout on Main Street in Fort Bragg.

Deputies pulled in behind the suspect and contacted him at his vehicle. Gallup who was seated inside the rear of his vehicle kicked out his own window and moved to the front seat. Gallup then placed his vehicle into reverse and accelerated towards the patrol vehicle. Gallup rammed the patrol vehicle and then attempted to flee the area in his Toyota. He once again swerved at Deputy Vanbaren who had to quickly move from being hit. Gallup then collided into an abandoned tent trailer and came to a stop.

Deputies approached suspect Gallup who was still inside the Toyota. Gallup's then once again accelerated and crossed onto Highway 1 and evaded law enforcement.

A short time later Gallup's Toyota was located in a driveway in the 25200 Block on North Highway 1.

On 10-4-2008 at approximately 2320 Deputy Vanbaren and Martin located suspect Gallup who was walking in the area of Mill Creek Drive North of Fort Bragg. The deputies contacted the suspect and placed him under arrest for the listed charges. The suspect was transported and booked into the Mendocino County Jail. He was further booked on a Violation of Probation charge which has no bail.
