| Synopsis: | On 10/06/08 at about 0920 hours, Mendocino County Deputies were asked to assist with the Fort Bragg Fire Department at 33080 Mill Creek Road, regarding a large explosion and residential fire. On scene, Deputies learned about a possible propane leak at the residence, which had been leaking for a few days according to witnesses in the area. One witness attempted to locate the source and believed it to be from the listed address. The property manager arrived to check the residence regarding the propane leak. Shortly after entering the residence, there was a large explosion. The explosion leveled the residence, and spread debris throughout the neighbor hood. The explosion also broke windows out of residences that were within several hundred yards. The property manager was taken to Coast Hospital with approximately 20-30 percent of his body burned. CalFire responded and is conducting a full investigation. |
