| Synopsis: | On 10/31/08 at about 0300 hours, Deputy Gander responded to the 39300 blk of Buckridge Road, Point Arena, for a report of child cruelty and a battery on a cohabitant. On arrival Deputy Gander spoke with a 15 year old juvenile and his mother. The juvenile explained his father, Gary Bartlett, had physically assaulted him because he did not want to enlist into the military. Bartlett allegedly shoved the child's head into some cabinets during the argument. The child left the residence, returning several hours later. Bartlett realizing the child had returned to the residence, struck the child with a wooden stick, breaking the stick in half. Bartlett then threatened to stab the child with the broken stick. The mother of the child then placed herself in between the child and Bartlett. Bartlett pushed her aside in attempt to get at the child. The child left the residence seeking refuge at a nearby residence, where law enforcement was requested. Bartlett was placed under arrest for the listed charge and transported to the county jail. | |||||||||||||
