Synopsis: On 2-15-2012 at approximately 0053 the Mendocino County Sheriffs Office received a telephone call from the victim's neighbor advising the victim had been assaulted.

Deputies contacted the victim at the neighbors residence who advised deputies she had been shot by the suspect during some type of domestic incident between the two outside their residence.

The victim was subsequently airlifted, via medical helicopter, to an out of county hospital, for a shotgun pellet injury to her backside. The victim is in stable condition.

Deputies attempted to locate the suspect with negative results. They further believe the suspect is still armed when he fled the residence.

Deputies along with detectives are conducting further follow up investigation into the incident.

UPDATED INFORMATION:

On 02-20-2012 at approximately 1045 hours (S) Dane Kraich arrived unannounced at the Mendocino County Jail to surrender himself due to his wanted status in regards to this incident.

A Sheriff's Deputy took custody of Kraich and had him booked into the Mendocino County Jail on charges of attempted murder, kidnapping and for an active parole violation warrant issue by the Idaho Department of Corrections. Kraich is expected to be held on a no bail status at this time.
