Synopsis: On 4-19-2012 at approximately 0630 the Mendocino County Sheriffs Office Communications Center received a telephone call from a husband and wife who reside in the area of Vineyard Oaks Drive in Redwood Valley regarding an approximate two(2)year old child who was unclothed, unattended and standing by their travel trailer adjacent their residence.

Deputies Paoli, Rainwater and Sergeant Scott, along with Child Protective Services responded to the location.

On arrival they contacted the callers and the child at the location. At approximately 0730 the child's mother (Suspect Angela Pinches) drove up to the location and stated the child belonged to her.

Deputies and CPS spoke to Angela who stated she had left her two year old daughter and nine year old son home and unattended for just a short while.

While talking with Suspect Angela and conducting their investigation deputies learned that the two year old and nine year old were left home unattended with the oven door open (for warmth). The two year old had traveled approximately One-two hundred yards away from her residence in the cool morning air. Deputies further believed that Angela was also under the influence of a controlled substance (believed to be methamphetamine).

Deputies arrested Angela for the listed charges and she was transported and booked into the Mendocino County Jail. The children were placed into the custody of child protective services.
