Synopsis: On 5-23-12 at approximately 1900 hours deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Coyote Valley Blvd to assist Coyote Valley Tribal Police Officers who were in a physical confrontation with subjects they were attempting to arrest for disorderly conduct.

On arrival, deputies learned Suspect Richard Ortiz was contacted by tribal officer's and was determined to be intoxicated. While attempting to arrest Ortiz, he became combative, injuring one of the tribal officers knees. Ortiz was eventually restrained and placed into one of the tribal police cars. As the deputies arrived,Ortiz kicked out the side window of the tribal police car.

Ortiz was then placed into a restraint device. During that contact, Ortiz sustained a cut to his forehead. Both Ortiz and the tribal officer were treated at Ukiah Valley Medical Center and subsequently released. Ortiz was then booked into the Mendocino County Jail on the listed charges.
