Synopsis: On June 15th, 2012 at approximately 5:00 PM, Deputies from the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a reported armed robbery at 30401 N. Hwy 101 in Willits. Sheriff's Deputies from Willits, Laytonville, Covelo and Ukiah responded to the scene. They were assisted by Officers from the Willits Police Department and the California Highway Patrol.

It was reported that two Hispanic males in their twenties had robbed sixty-six year-old Gary Parsons of six ounces of marijuana. When he struggled with the suspects, one shot had been fired from a handgun. The shot was fired away from the Parson's direction and was not intended to hit him. He was not injured.

The first person to call 911 told MCSO Dispatch that the suspects fled in a gold Chevrolet Camaro. Parsons told the first Sheriff's Deputy on scene that the suspect vehicle was a silver Ford Mustang and not the gold Camaro that had been reported earlier.

The suspects were described a Hispanic males in their 20's, heavily tattooed. One was approximately 5'10 tall with very short hair. He wore black pants and a white tee shirt. The second suspect was approximately 5'7 tall with very short hair, wearing black shorts and a white tee shirt. One 9mm cartridge casing was located at the scene. The suspects were not located.
