Synopsis: At approximately 5pm on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, deputies responded to the 17000 block of Highway 253, Boonville, after receiving a call from a property owner regarding poachers on his fenced land.

On arrival, deputies met with the property owner who stated that about 4:45pm he was driving past his ranch property when he saw a pickup truck parked along the side of the road. As he drove past, the property owner saw a white male standing next to the truck and a second subject hiding beyond his perimeter fence.

Concerned that the individuals were poaching, the property owner stopped up the road, watched the pickup truck drive away and then contacted the person on his property.

According to the property owner, the trespasser was armed with an expensive hunting bow but claimed to have simply hopped his fence in order to urinate.

The property owner telephoned for assistance and tried to prevent this person from leaving, but backed away after the trespasser abandoned his hunting bow and then tried to punch the victim, then ran to the pickup truck which had returned to pick him up.

The truck was last seen headed westbound towards Boonville.

The driver of the pickup truck was described as a white male in his mid-20s with a mustache. The person found with the hunting bow was described as a white male in his mid-20s, approximately 5' 09", 180 lbs with short brown hair last seen wearing a camouflage shirt and brown pants. The pickup truck is described as a 2010 or newer silver 4-door Dodge Ram with a California personalized license plate similar but not identical to "SLRCLR."

It appears the person with the hunting bow was engaged in poaching when he was interrupted by the property owner. Given the detailed vehicle description and unique license plate, community assistance is requested in helping to identify the persons involved in this incident. Anyone with information on the location of the pickup truck and/or the identification of the aforementioned suspects is asked to contact Deputy Walker at #707-463-4086.
