Synopsis: On 8-29-12 at approximately 10:23am Mendocino County Sheriffs Deputies conducted an enforcement stop on a green Toyota pickup for unsafe speed and an illegal turn. The male driver drove into the parking area of a wrecking yard in the 200 block of Branscomb Road and then fled on foot.

The female passenger, later identified as Rhonda Phillips, age 47, of Laytonville, stayed in the vehicle. She told deputies she only knew the driver as "Chris". Documents in the vehicle identified "Chris" as Chris Rice, also of Laytonville.

Deputies searched the suspect vehicle and located crystal methamphetamine, along with digital scales, packaging materials and a methamphetamine smoking pipe inside the vehicle.

Rhonda Phillips was arrested for possession and transportation of methamphetamine for sale and transported to the Mendocino County Jail. The male suspect is still outstanding at this time.
