Synopsis: On 03/07/2013 at approximately 2250 hours Mendocino County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the Ukiah Valley Medical Center in regards to a child abuse investigation.

Deputies contacted the attending emergency room physician who reported that a 2-year-old male child had been admitted to the hospital. It was determined the child had a life threatening level of blood alcohol content and the presence of methamphetamine in his system.

The child had been brought to the emergency room after the child's grandmother had picked up the child from the mother's, Samantha Delvalle, residence. The grandmother noticed the child did not appear well as she was driving home and smelled alcohol after the child had vomited.

Deputies responded to Delvalle's residence located in the 8800 block of Highway 128 in Philo, California.

Deputies contacted Delvalle and Raymond Maybery at the residence at about 0130 hours on 03/08/2013. Deputies observed several empty bottles of alcohol beverages scatted around the property of the residence.

While interviewing Delvalle and Maybery, Deputies noticed they both appeared to be intoxicated and under the influence of a controlled substance. Both Delvalle and Maybery were evaluated and determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance (illicit drugs).

A Sheriff’s Detective obtained a search warrant for the property and residence to aid the Deputy’s in their investigation.

Deputies served the search warrant and located drug paraphernalia in the residence, which both Delvalle and Maybery were determined to reside. Deputies also found open alcoholic beverage containers and drug paraphernalia that were within reach of where the child had access.

Delvalle and Maybery were arrested for child endangerment, controlled substance intoxication and drug paraphernalia.

Delvalle and Maybery were booked into the Mendocino County Jail where they were to be held in lieu of $25,000.00 bail.
