Synopsis: On 4-10-2013 deputies with the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office and the Sheriff's Office Marijuana Eradication Team executed a search warrant at a residence located at 4020 Ridge Circle, Willits.

During the execution of the search warrant MCSO personnel located an indoor marijuana growing operation inside the living areas of the residence. While conducting a search of the residence deputies located evidence that the occupants of the residence were involved in the manufacturing of a controlled substance by chemical extraction. Also located in the residence were 99 marijuana plants, numerous butane canisters, marijuana packaged in glass tubes, two firearms and $1400.00 in U.S. currency.

Arrested at the residence was David Lavine and Skylar Gist. Both David Lavine and Skylar Gist were arrested for the manufacturing of a controlled substance by chemical extraction, marijuana cultivation/processing, and conspiracy to commit a crime. David Lavine was charged with an additional violation for possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Both Lavine and Gist were transported to the Mendocino County Jail for the listed charges. Lavine was released following the posting of $75,000.00 bail and Gist is currently being held at the Mendocino County Jail on $50,000.00 bail.
