Synopsis: On 05/14/13 Deputies from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office were detailed to investigate the report of a burglary which had occurred on Sherwood Ranch Road in Willits, California.

Deputies contacted the victim and learned he had two four wheel motorcycles which were stored in a metal shipping container on a property located on Sherwood Ranch Road.

During November 2012 the locks had been smashed off the container and the motorcycles as well as miscellaneous tools and chain saws were stolen.

On 05/08/13 the victim had located one of the motorcycles and recovered it from a nearby neighbor.

The victim learned the motorcycle had been sold to the neighbor by a male juvenile who was known to the neighbor.

The victim advised he had been told of the second motorcycle’s whereabouts and requested Deputies investigate that information as part of him finally reporting the burglary.

Deputies learned the second motorcycle was at a residence located in the area of Sherwood Rancheria and responded to the location.

Deputies located the second stolen motorcycle and spoke with residents at the home. Deputies learned the motorcycle had been left at the location by a second male juvenile.

Deputies recovered the motorcycle and contacted the Mendocino County Juvenile Probation Department for further information on the juveniles.

Deputy Probation Officers were able to contact the juveniles who were on formal probation in Mendocino County.

The juveniles were interviewed regarding the thefts and probable cause was developed showing the juveniles were responsible for the burglary of the victim's container.

Both juveniles were arrested and booked into the Mendocino County Juvenile Hall.
