Synopsis: On 05/18/2013 at approximately 2126 hours, Deputies from the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence located in the 31000 block of Westwood Drive in Fort Bragg after a report was received of two male subjects trespassing at that location.

It was reported the two males were occupying a condemned structure and both were smoking a controlled substance(s).

Deputies arrived at approximately 2133 hours and contacted Christopher Swift and Soren Wester. Upon contact Deputies observed suspected methamphetamine inside the structure the subjects were occupying.

Deputies then conducted a field drug evaluation on Swift and Wester to determine if they were presently under the influence of a controlled substance.

As a result of those evaluations, both Wester and Swift were arrested for being under the influence of a central nervous system stimulant.

A search of Wester’s person incident to his arrest resulted in the discovery of a small plastic bag containing 0.4 grams (gross field weight) of what later field-tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine.

Inside the residence, Deputies retrieved a glass smoking pipe and a small plastic bag containing 0.6 grams (gross field weight) of what later field-tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine.

Further investigation identified the 0.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine as belonging to Swift and the glass smoking pipe as being possessed by Wester.

Both Swift and Wester were transported to the Mendocino County Jail where they were booked on charges of 11377 H&S and 11550 H&S. Wester was additionally booked on a charge of 11364 H&S.

Both were lodged at the Mendocino County Jail and held in lieu of $10,000.00 bail.
