Synopsis: On 5-27-13 at approximately 1215 hours, Deputies from the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Reservation Road and Branscomb Road in Laytonville.

The vehicle stopped was equipped with Oregon license plates. The driver, Dana Rae Short, was a California resident who had been living in the Laytonville area for several months and had not registered her vehicle in California as required by law. Short was also not licensed to drive in California.

After the enforcement stop Short was arrested for driving without a valid California driver's license.

During a subsequent inventory search of her vehicle prior to towing revealed a plastic baggie in the glove box compartment which contained a small quantity of a white crystal substance, confirmed by presumptive test to be methamphetamine.

Also located in the glove box compartment were LORAZEPAM and ARIPRAZOL pills, controlled substances which Short possessed without a prescription.

Short was booked into the Mendocino County Jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and driving without a valid California driver's license.

Short was to be held at the Mendocino County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 bail.
