The fire continues to burn in heavy timber. Firefighters are challenged by steep, rugged terrain with difficult access. The National Weather Service has issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” over the area for possible thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight. If weather conditions persist, fire activity is projected to increase each afternoon. The fire continues to grow to the East and South and may reach dangerous rates of spread dependent upon weather conditions and fuels.
An Evacuation Order is still in effect for the area around the eastern boundary of the Lodge Fire in the following areas:
Camp Seabow, Elder Place, Tan Oak Park, Bald Mountain Ranch, Mad Creek, Elk Creek east of Brush Mountain. We will continue to evaluate the need for the evacuation order as the incident progresses.
An evacuation shelter has been set up by the American Red Cross at the Leggett School, 1 School Way.
